"Software Estimation" is Jolt Award Finalist

Bellevue, WA - January 16, 2006 - Jolt Award finalists were announced on the Jolt Awards website today. Software Estimation: Demystifying the Black Art, by Construx's founder, Steve McConnell, is one of seven finalists in the Books (Practical/General Developer Interest) category. McConnell has been nominated four times previously, and has won twice, in 1994 for Code Complete and in 1997 for Rapid Development. Jolt winners will be announced at the SD West conference on March 21, 2007.

Software Estimation: Demystifying the Black Art is responsive to the widespread problems the software industry has experienced in creating meaningful cost and schedule estimates. It presents fundamental estimation techniques and addresses specific estimation challenges. Published by Microsoft Press in March 2006, the book retails for $39.99.

The Jolt Awards are regarded as the Oscars of the software industry since their launch in 1990. More information about the Jolt Awards can be found at www.joltawards.com.
